As Veterans Day approaches, San Diego’s Fleet Week takes on special significance as we celebrate both our active-duty service members and the veterans who have served our nation proudly. This maritime celebration combines traditional Fleet Week activities with special Veterans Day observances to create a powerful tribute to military service past and present.
Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade
Join us for the solemn Veterans Day Ceremony at the USS Midway Museum on November 11th at 10:00 AM. Following the ceremony, the San Diego Veterans Day Parade marches through downtown, featuring military units, veterans’ organizations, and marching bands. Watch the parade along Harbor Drive or join us at the grandstand area near Maritime Museum. Reserve your viewing spots at https://www.fleetweeksandiego.org/veterans-day-boat-parade/.
Ship Tours and Military Displays
Step aboard active-duty Navy ships at Broadway Pier and explore their impressive decks guided by both active-duty sailors and veteran docents who share their naval experiences across generations. Book your ship tour at https://www.fleetweeksandiego.org/military-ship-tours/. The Innovation Zone nearby showcases military technology evolution, from historical exhibits to cutting-edge developments.
